Environmental Exceptions under Article 26 of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) – Any Lessons Learnt

The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is the largest in the world in terms of participating countries since the formation of the World Trade Organisation (“WTO”). The major objectives of the AfCFTA are stated in Article 3 of the agreement establishing the AfCFTA. In general, the intention is to boost trade among African countries


Overall, the biggest expected outcome of the AfCFTA will be value addition opportunities which will cut across agri-business, light manufacturing and emerging heavy manufacturing industries.                                           ...And those who seize the moment may very well be those who may OPTIMIZE the advantage.
