Pheona is extensively experienced in legal risk management, regulatory compliance, board affairs and stakeholder relations management. She is a resource in both private and public enterprises with thorough knowledge and hands-on experience in public relations, company secretarial practice, corporate governance, labor, contract and commercial transactions. Pheona combines a solid corporate legal background with a well-developed understanding of both commercial and operational drivers of business.
  • Drafted, presented, and negotiated various successful Donor Proposals to Save the Children while working with The LDC Legal Aid Clinic
  • Managed the donor relationship between the Icelandic Development Agency and Candle Light Foundation, from proposal writing to project implementation
  • Successfully made a project proposal to DANIDA while at Candlelight foundation
  • Legal Advisor to NWSC on the Kampala Water and Sanitation project Contracts with the EU, KFW, and the World Bank
  • Legal Advisor to NWSC on various External Services Contracts; for example with an Indian Water Utility, Kisumu Water and DAWASCO
  • Legal Draftsman and Advisor on USAID FABRI contract with the East Africa Young Water Professionals
  • Country Project Communications Manager on the Bharti Airtel (India) acquisition of Warid Telecom and member of Project Conrad Internationally which managed and implemented the acquisition
  • Airtel Uganda Representative on the National Commentary on the 2013/14 National Budget
  • Legal Counsel to National Water and Sewerage Corporation in connection to 50m Euros project financing agreements from the AFD on the South Western Cluster Water Treatment Plants in Uganda.
